Challenges Facing Public-private Partnerships in Facilitating Sustainable Urban Regeneration

Purpose of Study:    

You are being asked to participate in a doctoral student research study conducted at Ecole des Ponts Business School (https://pontsbschool.com/) and designed to explore how subject matter experts describe the challenges facing public-private partnerships in facilitating sustainable urban regeneration.

Procedures:               Upon agreement to participate in this study, you will:

·      Participate in an interview through written replies to five interview questions approved by the research supervisor. 

·      I will provide copies of your interview transcript to review, inspect, correct or edit any omission, addition, or misinterpretations once the recording has been transcribed.

·      You will have 72 hours upon receiving your transcript to make any corrections for member-checking purposes to improve the accuracy and credibility of this study. It is important to know that no response or reply will indicate you agree with the transcript content within 72 hours.

·      You will receive a copy of the transcript in a separate email to your individual email account to correct or edit anything the researcher did not capture correctly; this is called member checking. Please reply with any changes needed within 48 hours. If it is not returned at that time, I will assume you agree with the transcript's content.

·      At any time, if participants feel uncomfortable during the interview process, they may discontinue by notifying the interviewer and leaving the meeting room. I would send the participant an email to verify if they chose to discontinue or experience a technical error. After verification, I will continue the interview or electronically delete the data.

Confidentiality:         No information that can identify you personally will be collected as part of this research. The research is completely confidential. The data will not be used for any other research purposes except this study to ensure participants' privacy. Participants' personal or any identifying information will not appear at any time on any transcripts, reports, or publications of my research. Numeric identifiers will be substituted for all names of real people, organizations, and locations throughout all written documents used in the study.

                                    All data collected via transcripts will be secured for the duration of the study and kept safe and password-protected. Any USB flash drive will be stored in a locked cabinet in my home office, and codes will be inserted for names to maintain privacy. As the institution requires, the researcher will keep interviewing recordings and transcripts for five (5) years. USB will be appropriately discarded and destroyed after that time period.

Use of information:   The information obtained from this interview will be used to complete a doctoral dissertation at Ecole des Ponts Business School. No identifying information will be included in the document.
